Harvest late spring to early fall depending upon variety; fruit is ready for harvest 4 to 6 weeks after blossoming. Harvest only fully red, ripe berries before they get soft; pick every other days—they ripen quickly; harvest lasts up to 3 weeks. Pick in the morning before the sun dries them.

A mixed berry smoothie takes just a few minutes to make, yogurt can be added, making the smoothie filling and refreshing. Have in hand frozen berries, a banana, yogurt, and sweetener if desired. Other liquid choices might be skim milk, almond milk, coconut milk or cranberry juice. Also, you can sweeten smoothies, with a little honey.
